Buddy
began recording in 1949 at his home at 3315 36th Street in Lubbock. The
first known recording is of "My Two Timin' Woman”. Buddy with
his acoustic at 13 years old.
In 1952, Bob Montgomery’s vocals were accompanied by Buddy on mandolin as they recorded "I'll Just Pretend" and "Take These Shackles From My Heart" at the same home. These were recorded on a wire recorder and later transferred to acetate. In 1953, the two recorded "Footprints In The Snow".
