Sarah Tobias goes to her local bar and is gang-raped by three men. Thedistrictattorney on the case is Katheryn Murphy who wants to prove that although Sarah had taken drugs that night and was acting provocatively while in the bar, this is no reason for her to be so brutally attacked and the men responsible should be brought to justice.
This movie is based on actual events. Sarah Tobias goes into a bar one night and winds up being gang raped by 3 guys. She is introduced to an attorney named Katherine Murphy. Not only does Katherine Murphy want to go after the men who commited the rape, she wants to go after the men in the bar who cheered it on. But Katherine has her work cut out for her. Her client has a past, and that past could be used against her in court.

The General's Daughter

When a general's daughter (Leslie Stefanson), an army captain in psychological operations, is found murdered, two warrant officers (John Travolta, Madeleine Stowe) are brought in to investigate. The young woman was staked down with tent poles, strangled, and presumably raped. But what the investigators find is even more bizarre, relating back to her days at West Point and involving the general (James Cromwell) himself and his aide (Clarence Williams III). The daughter's one confidant (James Woods) also ends up as an apparent suicide and is assumed to be the culprit. Cover-ups and sexual scandals rampage throughout the film. Timothy Hutton appears as on an on-base officer.

Don't show this movie to your children and you think it over before watching it too.

This is not just "another movie" this is also a great analysis of the American and western societies. Oliver Stone has really put his nail on it. That is what good cinema is all about (after all cinema is still an Art form, not yet a commodity, even in LA.Thank you Mr Stone)
