TRADITIONAL ANGLICAN COMMUNION
ANGLICAN CATHOLIC
CHAPLAINCY
OF
SAINT
MARY THE VIRGIN
NORMANDY - FRANCE
Welcome
to the web site of the Chaplaincy of Saint Mary the Virgin
in what is presently the Archbishop's Patrimony of the Traditional
Anglican Communion. This Chaplaincy is located in Normandy in
northern France.
Adhering to the doctrinal and moral teaching contained
in the Catechism of
the Catholic Church and for many years based on the Affirmation
of Saint Louis, a document dating from 1977, we offer traditional
liturgical worship and pastoral services for Anglicans and other
Christians from different ecclesial origins living in France or
on holiday over here.
You are invited to go through the links below and
discover this little world and oasis of English Catholicism inspired
by pre-Reformation norms of liturgy and spirituality together
with the positive and truly Catholic aspects of post-Reformation
Anglican culture and learning.
The TAC is a worldwide union of Christian communities
identifying with the Anglican Catholic tradition. It has been
since the 1970's estranged from most of the "official"
Anglican Communion due to changes that adversely affect the sacramental,
doctrinal and moral integrity of the Church. The TAC, alongside
other Anglicans having made similar pilgrimages, is in the process
of being brought into full communion with Rome under special
canonical dispositions decided by Pope Benedict XVI in October
2009.
On the 9th November 2009, the following documents
were released by the Roman Curia:
After having consulted the synods of all the local
Churches of the TAC, our Archbishop and Bishops will certainly
respond to these historical decisions by the highest authority
of the Roman Catholic Church. It is anticipated that the first
Personal Ordinariates for convert Anglican communities may be
canonically erected by the Pope in the Spring of 2010.
