Darbouka records is a small label and distributor based in the eastern part of France.

The aim of darbouka records is to help punk and metal bands from "exotic" countries ("exotic" by the point of view of a French guy!). I try to help them by releasing records from bands that I like (see the discography section), and also by distributing records (see the catalogue section).

Since 2003 I've also started to distribute folk, ethno and world music cos' I think this is also an important part of discovering new cultures from the other side of the globe.

RIP OFF :

The following label has ripped me off, he owes me 18 CDs since december 2005, I wrote back several times, as usually no reply... So you know what to do if he asks for a trade.

PROJECTS:

These projects will see the light one day or another:

• Compilation LP with punk bands from Panama.
• Book about punk in South and Central America. This will contain a list of all vinyl records with South/Central american punk bands (but also HC, grind, emo, oi!, crust...) and will hopefully include a punk history for every country as well as a little biography for the most important bands. HELP IS NEEDED for this project!
