Personal and confidential consultations in English.

|
General Medecine
|
|
As English is my mother tongue, consultations will
mostly be in English. I do, however, also speak fluent French,
Hindi and Punjabi. All patients’ files are confidential.
|
|
My role is to diagnose and treat general medical problems. I
act as a gatekeeper to specialist services by referring
patients, when appropriate, and continuing care after the
specialist consultation. |
Screening and health promotion
|
|
General Paediatrics
|
|
Health promotion is a very important part
of the consultation. I give advice regarding life style, diet,
exercise, physical and psychological well being.
Medical check ups are available and can
be booked directly with the Doctor concerned.
|
|
Children’s medicine from simple ear, nose and throat
symptoms to diagnosis of unexplained symptoms. Vaccinations
are available within the French system and also in accordance
to the schedule in your home country.
|
Prenatal and early antenatal care
|
|
Gynaecology and family planning
|
| Safe pre-
pregnancy planning is vital to a healthy pregnancy. Advice and
examinations relating to prenatal care are available. Once
pregnant, I provide antenatal care during the first trimester
and help you choose the right place for your delivery. I can
refer you to the British Hospital Obstetric department
(ideally this referral should take place within the first few
weeks of your pregnancy).
|
|
English GPs are trained and experienced in the
management of gynaecological, obstetric and paediatric
problems. In most cases, you would not need to consult a
specialist. I provide contraceptive advice and regular gynecological
examinations including cervical (pap) smears. I routinely treat
non-surgical gynecological problems including menopausal
symptoms and have on site access to examinations such pelvic
ultrasound and cervical cytology examination.
|
Continuity of Care
|
|
An interface between the French medical system and you.
|
| I feel very
strongly about providing a high standard of medical treatment and
continuity of care. A dossier is made for every patient and will
remain in the practice to provide reference for all related
problems.
My assistant GP is English and similarly trained. She has taken on extra sessions in
my practice, therefore ensuring that there will be a Doctor in the office every day, even
when I am away for conferences or holidays. This provides complete
continuity of care.
|
|
Even with an excellent command of French, you may
have found finding the right doctor for you difficult. This is
because English speaking patients have different expectations
of health care and this often leads to barriers between you
and your doctor.
I have a network of specialists whose command of
English is proven, and who have a good track record of
communicating with my patients.
After several years working in the hospital, my French
is perfectly fluent. I am therefore able to help my patients overcome the many
difficulties of the complex French medical system. For
referrals, I provide my patients with a letter in French,
explaining the medical problems and examinations already
performed, if appropriate.
