Welcome to The Scorpion Fauna. The goal of this web
site is to provide modest advice to people who would
like to study, keep and breed scorpions.
Care sheets of the species I have kept are described
to help, if need be, the new owners of the species presented
here.
From the tropical Heterometrus to the desertic
Androctonus, from the European Buthus
to the American Centruroides, from the harmless
Euscorpius to the very venomous Tityus,
or from the quite common Pandinus to the fairly
rare Apistobuthus... more than 130 species
are presented, among which scorpion keepers will be
able to make a choice or get information on captive
conditions.
Photos and information on biology, ethology and ecology
of the species I have kept are also presented, and enthusiasts
will be also able to find updated databases about scorpions
literature and origins.
I hope this web site will be useful to the enthusiasts
as much as the advice and help I got from Patrick Bultel,
Gérard Dupré, Jan Ove Rein and Wilson
Lourenço. I take this opportunity to thank them.
Many thanks also to Cristina putting up with this strange
passion...
