Gabriel DIANA was born on October 1st 1942 in Orbetello (I) in the heart of the Etrurie. His art lab and shop is located in Corsica, near Bastia, on the Lido of the Marana, where at present the Exhibition Center with his works is under construction. The artist shares his time between France and Italy.

With a French mother and Italian father, Gabriel DIANA was born in Tuscany in 1942. At a young age, he attended the academy of painting in Bastia, and when he was only 15 years old he exhibited his oils on canvas in Corsica. He spent three years in the French Navy, followed by an engineering carrier, and worked in the field in Milan, Italy. During the many years lived in the Capital of the Lombardy, DIANA cultivated his passion for art. He improved his knowledge and got involved with artists and laboratories of art, sculpture, serigrafy, lithography, incision, where he now has an ample knowledge. He loves to state: "If every technique is a language, the man is polyglot !" Gabriel DIANA's art works are indexed and the artist is recognized in his home land as well as overseas. The President of the Italian Republic, Ciampi, in May 2004, conferred him the "Cavallierato" in recognition to his contributions to art. The art pieces of this French-Italian artist, and particularly his bronzes, have been defined by the media as: "… works that contain a strong symbolic dimension. All are bearers of a valuable image that translate the ability of the island to produce and to export added value in the artistic and cultural fields". The national TV channel "France3" produced a 52 minutes report about the career of Gabriel Diana. It was transmitted worldwide. The producer, in recognition to the artist, expressed: "What is expressed in Diana's sculptures is subjective. What they contain is essential… ". Three important books are a testimony to the artist-engineer and his art, named: "BRONZE", " L'ART DU BRONZE PAR LE FEU ", luxuriously packaged, named "DIANA": The books, edited from the French Editions Criteres that, in two languages and three volumes redraws the career of the artist. It discloses the eroticism of his hidden side and offers a small sculpture of cast bronze, in wax, hidden in a casket. Since 2007, working in the city of Carrara, Gabriel DIANA has been carving marble with great mastery and creativeness.
