Outline of Hyogo Prefecture
Hyogo Prefecture is located roughly at the center of Japan, straddling the 135th meridian that is used to define the Japanese Standard Time zone. This prefecture faces the Japan Sea to the north and the Seto Island Sea and Pacific Ocean to the South. Hyogo has varied characteristic in climate, culture and industries. It is often called "Japan in miniature." Kobe, the largest city in the prefecture, is famous worldwide as an international trading port contributing to the Kansai district being a leading metropolitan area of Japan. The gross production of the prefecture is almost equal to that of Denmark.
