       La Petite Maison

is a self catering holiday rental, detached, 3 bedroom cottage with pool, sleeps 7 people situated in the Poitou Charentes near to Ruffec, Angoulême, Cognac and Jarnac and within comfortable driving distance of the Bordeaux Region, the Atlantic coast towns of La Rochelle, Royan and the islands de Ré and d'Oléron.

Vergnette is a private wooded estate situated in the heart of the beautiful Charente.   It consists of 300 acres of oak forests interspersed with fields of sunflowers, corn, grape vines and cereal crops.   It is situated overlooking a valley through which the Charente River gently meanders.

La Petite Maison holiday cottage was once the home of the estate manager and is located with the owners' house in five acres of private grounds between the two chateaux of the De Catheu family.   It is fully renovated to modern standards, there are many more interior photographs on our "Images" page.  It is available year round for weekly rental, see our "Tariffs & Booking" page for prices and availability.   Guests have full access to the private grounds and to the many kilometres of forest trails within Vergnette itself.

bullet La Petite Maison opened for limited business in August 2001 gradually developing through 2002 with its first full season in 2003.  It is priced very competitively for the quality of both the accommodation and location.  
bulletOpen all year round, it is an ideal spot for a break away from the mayhem of modern living yet its location enables guests the opportunity to easily explore the unspoilt surroundings of the Charente or Charente Maritime.
bulletThe local village of Fouqueure is 2 kms from La Petite Maison and has a boulangerie, a post office and a bar tabac.
bulletOther amenities such as restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, doctors surgery, banks and tourist offices are approximately 10 minutes drive to the towns of Mansle or Aigre.
bullet The advertised prices for weekly rental are all inclusive of:
  1. Electricity, including central heating during the winter months.
  2. Bed Linen, including a change on the second Saturday for guests staying two
bulletNegotiated long term rentals during off peak season are not inclusive of utilities and guests must supply their own bed linen.
