| A BIT
OF PERSONAL HISTORY
Baby
Danielle would not have been born if American
soldiers had not taken her mother in a jeep to
the hospital in Carentan (remember "Band
of Brothers ?) close to Utah Beach)
Suzanne,
a cousin was killed by shrapnel between her
father & mother
Because
of the stories she heard from her parents of the
D-Day 1944 period, Danielle always felt some kind
of gratitude for America and this is why she
first went there in 1967 and again in 1968 to
marry a Texan
she lived in Texas &
California for about 16 years then decided to
" go back to her roots" in 1983.
Highlights
of Danielle's 26 years of varied experience in
the travel industry include service as the
Director of the Caen & Falaise Tourist
Offices, Travel agent in Houston & San Diego,
area Sales Manager for Meridien hotels based in
Los Angeles.
In
addition to her native French, Danielle is fluent
in English and also speaks German and Spanish as
a result of her residence in those two countries.
She has traveled extensively throughout the world
and now looks forward to introducing the
treasures of Normandy to you !
She now works as an independent contractor and
today lives in the small town of Isigny-sur-Mer,
right in the center of the D-Day Beaches American
sector.
( Son Trevor has dual
citizenship, bilingual (no accent) works also as
guide as well as Information agent at the famous
site of la Pointe du Hoc near Omaha beach)
