The Journal is open to all theological disciplines and to all currents of thought without
prejudice. Notwithstanding its title Revue d'Histoire et de Philosophie Religieuses,
its calling is to cover the whole domain of theology.
The Journal publishes scientific articles in French on Christianity and on religions
entertaining close connections with Christianity, notably Judaism and Islam. Such
articles, to be addressed to the editorial secretary, are then submitted to the
editorial board.
Although giving pride of place to Protestantism, the Journal does remain ecumenical
in character with regard to both subjects and authors. Articles may be submitted by
young researchers as well as by established scholars.
In France, the RHPR is one of the principal scientific and technical
Journals of Protestant inspiration. By virtue of its extended section of book reviews,
it has become an indispensable tool for all researchers in the field of religious studies
and for those interested in the subject matter of religion.
During the coming years, particular attention will be paid to research on the
"inter-testamentary" literature and to studies on Reformation.
