| About the Area In
a circle of aprox. 50 kilometres you have:- Sea, Lake, Rivers, Mountain, The Canal du
Midi. The Lake Salagou is a drive of 10 mins and is perfect for Wind surfing, Fishing,
Swimming etc. The lake is large - 7 by 1 kilometres & is an ancient volcano. Montpellier (40mins drive) is a very a pretty historic city. There are the Roman features such as "Les Arceaux" an enormous water viaduct. It now has a new tramway with a park and drive, an international Airport - car hire available. Or direct from Paris with the TGV a train journey of 4hrs - car hire available As well as the famous Languedoc wine routes, Spain is only a 3 hr drive. Historic places such St Guilhem (abbey founded in 804), Pezenas,Lodeve, Sete (famous Port),Navacelles canyon(classified grand natural site). Pilgrim roads for St Jacques de la compostelle(Spain)-discovery walks. Discover Food: Roquefort goat and sheep cheese.Specialities of Olives and Olive oil. Drink: Famous Languedoc Wines,Muscat, Eau de vie, Pastis The famous Mediterranean Fauna and Flora. Dolmens, Menhirs, Fossils(Dinosaurs). St Jean de Fos: Pottery since the Medieval times with oldest Romanesque bridge in France. |
